The Photographer

I am a 24 year resident of Boulder City, Nevada. I retired about 2 ½ years ago as Engineering Manager for a large Electrochemical Company. Following retirement, I decided to get into photography, and have recently been doing product and industrial photography. These two phases of photography compliment my business of web site design. I have recently become interested in portrait and fashion photography and would like to pursue this field. I have been studying lighting and posing and would like to offer prints in exchange for a model’s time. TFP, or time for prints, is a standard method used by both photographers and models. TPF allows the photographer to test different lighting, camera setting, camera angle shots, backgrounds, etc. TFP, in turn gives the model additional valuable modeling experience, and prints to either start, or enhance their portfolio.

How it works

If a model is interested in TFP, they can contact me and we will set up a meeting at which time we will discuss the type of photos I am interested in taking at the time. We will discuss the type of photos the model is interested in receiving. We will discuss the type and color of the clothing the model will wear. We will discuss the location of the shoot. We have the option of either shooting in the studio, or outdoors at a suitable location. If the model is less than 18 years old, a parent or guardian must be present at the shoot. The model must sign a Model Release Form. A sample of this form is shown in this brochure. We will schedule a time for the shoot. I also provide Professionally Designed Web Sites, and ZED and Comp cards. I am available for questions any time during the daytime. The model can contact me via e-mail at any time with questions.

Post Processing

All of my photos are taken with a digital Olympus E1 Professional SLR camera.

In addition to taking the shots, each image is post processed with Adobe Photoshop CS. In this process, I can remove blemishes, color correct, crop, straighten, and do almost anything with the image before printing.

Printing is done on an Epson Stylus PHOTO 2200 printer. This printer is capable of printing prints up to 13” x 19” and uses an ink with a life of 100 years.

I am a member of NAPP; National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
